FA Reynolds (Olds) Silver Plated Sousaphone

If I remember correctly, these were made by Olds and then stenciled for Reynolds

New neck and bits

It's been given a cleaning and polish! Some of the tarnish was pretty stubborn so I couldn't get all of it off in the time I had to clean it but if you want to take a few more hours to polish it, the plating looks to be intact so it'll shine up nice!

The bell has a gold wash plating and it's about 90% intact!

The instrument plays well but I haven't had time to do the additional work I had hoped to do. I'm listing it for sale at a discount, since it's fixed and ready to play, but it could use some more dent work to be in top shape. The neck receiver is also poorly soldered but it's still functional.

If you would like to purchase the instrument and have the additional work done, I can do it for an additional $300 ($3k total) and expedite the repair.

No case or mouthpiece

SOLD! Asking $2,700 as it is now or $3,000 if you want the additional dent work done.

Local pickup only in Goleta, California

Cleveland-era Reynolds were just made in Cleveland by Reynolds with no Olds connection. The workmanship on the Cleveland-era horns was very good. Later in the late 60s/70s when things moved to Abilene, things got murky. For example, the late model, 3/4 sized Reynolds Contempora was just an Olds 0-99 stencil, more or less. Sorry for the somewhat off-topic aside; I'm sure this is a great player.
