I am putting my Melton 2040-5 Eb Tuba up for sale.

I bought it new back in 2003. This is a great do it all Tuba, I have done many performances on it, from solo recitals through to full sized orchestras, stick a bigger mouthpiece in and you have yourself a 4/4 CC Tuba or use a smaller mouthpiece and have a F Tuba with a great lower register. This instrument isn't really mouthpiece sensitive allowing you to use the mouthpiece you want to use, personally I've used a Stork WD24 on it 80% of the time. It was my main instrument for over 15 years, I sold my Besson 981 because this was better and I'm only selling as I've moved over to Alexander Tubas now.

The Tuba has fantastic valves that I've never had a problem with and all the slides are free. It has some lacquer wear, particularly on the bell where the right hand sits and there are some dents as expected for a 22 year old instrument, mainly on the bottom of the bottom bow. There is also a crease in the bell, it has never effected the playing characteristics of the instrument and I never got around to having it rolled out. It should be an easy job to put right and I've tried to show it in the photos.

Included in the sale is a Mr Tuba gig bag and a SKB hardcase. This should allow safe shipping to Europe or the U.S. Instrument is located in London and I'm willing to work with buyers to ship or collect.

I'm asking for £6000 GBP.
