Miraphone 283 Norwegian Star Eb FS $8,500

Up for sale is my Miraphone 283 Norwegian Star tuba. A five valve tuba pitched in Eb, this is a fantastic horn for solo repertoire, large ensemble music and chamber music. I have used it for all of these things in undergraduate, graduate, live/recorded auditions and professional settings. It has a clear and resonate tone, fantastic intonation, and very comfortable to play sitting down or standing with a harness, too.
I bought this horn used in 2021 at Baltimore Brass, and since then I have had it regularly cleaned and serviced by Matt Walters at Dillon Music, including an installment of a fresh set of rotor keys linkages. There are only minor dents on the bell and small corrosion/red rot on the 5th slide and 3rd valve section. Pictures available upon request
