Hello everyone!

For your consideration is this Meinl Weston 45S, a 6/4 F tuba and predecessor to the current 45SLZ I believe. I've had this horn since about 2016, when I got it during my undergrad. If memory serves, the previous owner informed me that it was from the early-mid 90s and previously had been used in the Lyric Opera of Chicago, but I could be misremembering. Since having it, I've used it as a solo horn, in orchestral settings, and very regularly in quintet. It's served me incredibly well, and the only reason I'm looking to move to a different F tuba is because I would like to have pistons.

This horn's tuning is, in my experience, very consistent with very little need for alternate fingerings. The tone is solid throughout the range, including in the register below the staff around the low C. I love this horn for how easy it is to fill with sound, and it will take almost anything you can blow into it and retain its tone color.

Ideally, I would like to trade this horn+cash for a piston F tuba. The horns I'm most interested in currently are the MW2205, MrP F, and MW 45SLP, but I may be open to other instruments if offered.

If you're looking to buy the horn outright, I'd like to $4500. I'm located in Vermont, and willing to travel quite the way to meet a potential buyer. If you have any questions, let me know! I believe I can send and receive PMs here, but you can also email me at richardlwmyers@gmail.com. Thanks for looking!
