This horn was built in 1980 at the Geretsried factory that Walter Nirschl now owns. The valves and slides move well. It's age is certainly showing in the evidence of repairs and the lacquer, but it plays very well and sounds great. It has an "old, American, big bell" sound that I quite like. Note that the receiver is an older, small size. An American shank fits, but it goes about 3/4 as deep as typical.

I bought it sight-unseen and am selling it because I play on the low side (on sousaphone, I use one bit and had a half-inch cut out of the main slide), and I don't want to remove the amount of tubing that would be required for me to comfortably play it in tune. So keep that in mind if you are interested.

There is no gig bag or case with the horn, but I have a good box and plenty of packaging for shipping. I am located in Landstuhl, Germany.

If you live in the US and are interested, I am open to international shipping, but I will also be moving back to the US in 1 year. So we may be able to work something out if you want to wait and save some on shipping.
