SOLD

Post by Andy Smith »

Hi all,

Up for sale or trade is my Meinl Weston 182 3/4 F. I’ve really enjoyed owning this horn, but my current needs just aren’t being met by this horn and it’s just sitting around taking up space.

I purchased this horn about a year ago specifically for an F tuba with an easy upper register and this horn is that and more. The upper register slots incredibly easy, is MUCH more in tune than any other F tuba I’ve played and it blends with trombone/euphonium beautifully. The low register is typical of these horns. Being a small rotary F, it’s not the most “point and shoot” low register, but it is very useable and with the added main tuning slide kicker, it is very easy to play in tune.

The horn is in very good shape with very minimal lacquer wear and a few nicks and dings here and there that I’ve tried to show in the photos.

I’m more interested in trades at the moment. I’m particularly interested in either an Alex F or a B&S symphonie, preferably with six valves. I’m asking $6500 which is what I have into it.

I’m located in the southern suburbs of Chicago and would be happy to set up a time at my home or at DePaul University for a trial.
