Hello all,

I had to give my F tuba back to my professor since Eastman wanted it back (it was being borrowed in the first place as far as I know). This has left me F tuba-less, so I am hoping to trade my 195P Fafner for an F tuba. I will be at MWRTEC, which will probably be the best chance to play the horn in person this summer. I understand that people tend to not trade horns cross-key, so if no one is willing for a trade I will be selling the horn and the supersac/MW gig bag outright for $10.5k OBO

A little bit about the horn:
This is a piston-valved version of the popular Fafner series by Melton Meinl Weston. This horn is a little 3 years old, but it does have some cosmetic wear, most notably, the wrinkles in the bell guards, and a small amount of red rot starting to develop on the lead pipe.
This horn has had a few upgrades courtesy of Martin Wilk: Added a couple (2?) braces and installed cord slide stops on the 1st, 3rd, and 4th top slides. A pull rod for the 2nd slide was also added. The horn also has custom valve buttons from Martin as well.

According to the previous owner of the horn, the braces tightened up the response quite a bit, I never played the horn without the extra bracing, but the horn does currently play amazingly. You wouldn't expect a horn this large to have such a nice high register, but it slots quite well above the staff. The low register is also stellar despite not having a 5th valve. I honestly don't miss the 5th valve on this horn for anything except for the pedal B natural. The false tones work great, but I don't use them very often. The 1st, 3rd, and 4th top slides all move like butter, and are in tune when in all the way, I will sometimes just pull a slide and let gravity push the slide in for me. This horn is listed as 5/4 sized, and maybe that's just because it's a BBb horn, but it is noticeably larger than my Thor, specifically in bell height and the sheer mass of the bottom bow. It puts out an enormous amount of sound, but it isn't taxing on the lungs.
