When I was in the New Yory area many years ago, I remember a few guys having a sousaphone valve added inline next to the existing three valves. I particularly remember a Canadian fellow who purchased an old Conn monster Eb and had the 4th valve added - outside of the horn being silver and the valve brass it looked pretty decent.
