With all due respect, if you MUST play fiberglass, please consider a pre-UMI King. With minimal care, they last forever. The .687 bore gives better projection, presence and security of intonation than a medium or large bore on a fiberglass bell, since you don't get any help on either from the fiberglass. Then consider an old Conn 14k, as with its slightly smaller bugle, it may not be that much heavier, with all the advantages of playing all-brass.

I agree with iiipopes that you'd be better off with a pre-UMI King or a Brass Conn 14K. The old style King 1250/2350 is also a great sousaphone. All of these can be had on ebay for very reasonalbe prices and they come up often enough. If you want to be sure of what you're getting I would go through one of the folks listed on this site under "shops". I'm sure they would be helpful and honest. Good luck, and I hope whatever you decide on it makes you happy!
