One of the Christmas presents my wife and I received this year was a 256MB USB Flash Drive. It was a GREAT gift idea, BUT it is for use with USB 2.0 and all of our computers have the older USB 1.1. Does anyone have a 256MB USB (1.1) Flash Drive they would like to trade or perhaps some other item they would like to trade for the flash drive? Thanks!
***EDIT***
Whoops....I got the thing to work.

The flash drive is no longer up for trade. Sorry for the inconvenience.

I am certainly not much of a computer techie, but I believe that USB 2.0 devices are designed to be backward compatible with 1.1. That is, the 2.0 devices will talk to either system. I, of course, could be totally wrong here, or my information could be hopelessly outdated. That's just what I remember.

Well, I plugged the flash drive into my computer and Windows XP did nothing. On my aunt's XP machine with USB 2.0 it was autodetected.
****EDIT****
STOP THE PRESS! I just plugged it in a USB slot in the BACK of the machine (not that the location should make a difference) and it was detected and I received a message saying the device was a "High Speed USB Device" and since my system is NOT capable of the high speed, it WILL WORK, but at a slower speed. YEY!!!

And besides... at only $25 it is hardly worth the shipping and swapping. Take it back to Office Max (or Wal*Mart) and trade for something you can use.
