FS: Lidl BBb tuba

Post by Norm in Bellevue »

This excellent 3/4 size BBb tuba was purchased from Lee Stofer last year. I'm selling it because I now play a CC tuba. The horn is in really fine condition with a very few scratches, and one tiny dent the size of the fingernail on my pinky finger. That dent is located on the inside of the bottom bow, on the side nearest my abdomen. Asking price of $2800 includes a Winter case. The Altieri gig bag is available for an extra $150. Gig bag is in new condition. Interested persons please email me at akensmith@aol.com

And prior to my purchasing the tuba from Lee Stofer, he sent me this email describing the horn.

"The Lidl LBB-701 BBb is the closest thing to a 184 you can get these days. It is a little more like a 184 with a Conn 3J bell, as it has more bell flare than the Mirafone. ...includes a nice Jacob Winter molded hard case with wheels, Hetman lubricants and a 24AW mouthpiece. The instrument would be serviced in my shop prior to shipping. My chemical cleaning service basically is an insurance policy against corrosion, and
that the instrument will have a long life."

I own one of these which was also purchased from Lee. These are nice sounding horns and very well made. They put out a lot of sound for a 3/4 size horn. They are also very hard to get in the US these days because Lidl dropped its distributor about a year ago. Lidl has informed me that only about 60 of these are made per year.

If you are looking for a very decent and compact BBb tuba, check this one out.
