WTB in EU, through shop

Post by corbasse »

My band is buying me a tuba! :)
Problems: money is limited (4500 euro) and we're strugling to find anything decent new for that price.

We're an official town band, and all purchaces have to go through the proper channels. We can buy second hand but have to do it through a shop because we need an official invoice.

Instrument: preferably a nice compensating BBb, but we're keeping an open mind for any decent instrument. Eb or BBb, piston or rotary.

Anybody got any tips?

Bob Tucci's Horn und Tuba Center near München sells used tubas. There are only a few listed on the website, but perhaps there are more horns waiting in the shop.
I know München is quite far from Bruges, but at least both are on the same side of the Atlantic.

Thanks. I'm also searching all the usual places and finding some stuff, but it's hard to judge from a distance. I found a 4500 euro Hirsbrunner BBb in Hamburg but that price almost seems too low.

this guy has a few instruments which look promising, but the low prices makes me wonder too....

I'm hoping someone here will know of a good instrument on sale somewhere in their neighbourhood, saving me from making a 2 day trip to see (or buying sight unseen) what turns out to be a substandard tuba.
(I'm not good enough yet to really seperate the good from the bad, so I'll have to depend on others anyway)

Of course I'm aiming to find that fantastic Besson sovereign BBb for 1000 euro or less . ;) :P

Hallo corbasse,
At Herzogenrath- Kohlscheid, near Aix la Chapelle works Mr. Leuchter, a tuba -fitter, who deals Stowasser tubas.

A Herzogenrath- Kohlscheid, Paulusstr., pas loin de Aix la Chapelle, il y a
