It IS a baritone: check out the narrow flare to the bell. It is a bit narrower than it looks because it is a screw-on front bell. The only difference between this one and the top-valve baritones is exactly that -- where they put the valves. Granted, it may have a bit bigger flare due to it being something aimed at the American market, but it is not anywhere near as big as a euph.

The seller has it mislabeled all over the place.

Yes, indeed. Hmm. 2 thoughts occur: 1) American "baritones" do have a hybrid flare as well as bore, and are usually in the bell front/valve front configuration, i.e. Olds, Reynolds, King, Conn, etc., and because of that 2) the tone may not be as pure bari as you may require, especially as a contrast to a true euph.

Hmm. If the bidding stays down, I might bid on it to go with my tuba!!

Good luck finding a true bari, now that I understand where you are coming from. If I see any bell ups, I'll let you know.
