And even more so, how do you see around the bell? Most American recording bell tubas at least have the bell up enough that they are above your vision line, but the Besson bell is greatest diameter right at the leadpipe!

The photo's misleading. I've got the twin of that horn (although with all of the pieces) hanging on my shop wall. Like most 4/4 BBb Bessons, it's pretty tall, so there's easily enough room to see under the bell.
