For Sale:

PT-6 CC tuba. 5 rotor valves. Some cosmetic damage (a few dings and some missing lacquer), but the important parts still work great. I bought it new in 1994.

I’m not one for spewing forth blah blah, but some of my friends said I should post what I have accomplished via this tuba, so here goes:

Winner:
Alabama Symphony, Lancaster Festival Orchestra, St. Louis sub/extra list, Paramount Brass Quintet, Western Michigan University (professor gig)

Finals:
Philadelphia (one vote shy of playing with trombone section), Milwaukee (final 4), San Francisco (performed with trombone section), Boston Brass (runner up)

Semis:
Philadelphia (first time), Pittsburgh, National

Cleveland (one of 4 invited via CD first time, automatically invited next time)
Boston (CD invite to 3rd audition)

I’m asking $7,000 for tuba and hard case (wood). Buyer pays shipping if necessary. Why am I selling? I’m bored and ready for something new. Contact me at MillerWA@aol.com if interested.

OK Andy....after playing on a PT6 for about 12 years now, what are you going to use now? I couldn't imagine switching after such a long time. Then again, I couldn't imagine NOT switching either. :)

I'll let ya know when I figure it out. Meanwhile, my PT-10 will be seeing some action!

Do you not need a CC for your current symphony rep? Are you thinking piston or rotars this time around? What are your students playing on?

Alabama
dulcimers?
That somehow (not sure how) reminds me of a t-shirt I saw someone wearing at Walmart it said in HUGE letters "Paddle Faster" in significantly smaller letters it said "I hear banjo music."
