This is the second one imported into the United States and was made specifically for me by Meinl Weston. It is a great f tuba. Low and high registers are very even and responsive and intonation is very good. It is in excellent condition with one small pea-sized dent in the whole horn. It is lacquered and the valves work great. I have used it extensively in the Seattle Symphony and Opera orchestras as well as numerous recording sessions. I am selling this horn because I have decided to switch to Yamaha f tubas. If you are looking for a great piston valve f tuba this is it. Price is $6,000 firm.

bump for Chris

This 2182 has the best low register of the 5 that I've played. For those looking for a clear F tuba with traditional Alexander color and modern playability, a used 2182 is a good place to start. Also, I have yet to play any of Chris' personal instruments that were less than great examples of any given model.

This instrument is in great condition. One of my students tried it out and Chris had it in (I believe an Altieri) nice gig bag.
