Rudy Meinl 5/4 (6/4??) CC Tuba For Sale
No ser #, but the horn has been dated to abt 1980.
Lacquer is abt 75% intact.
Lg dents were recently removed, all that remain are a very few small ones.
The brass seems to be more dense than that used for current production Rudy Meinls.
4 rotors w/ball and socket type linkage. Valves are fast and quiet.
Pull ring on 3rd v slide.
Intonation as follows: 3rd partial G is flat and requires an alternate fingering; 5th partial flat and 6th partial sharp, but both are fixable w/either slide manipulation or a bit of "lipping." The pull ring on the 3rd v slide is there for convenience and not out of necesity.
The sound of the horn is absolutely huge yet maintains a lot of color.
