Mirafone upright (not oval) tenor tuba. This instrument has 5, really good, rotary valves and sounds great. If you are looking for an instrument that sounds like a Willson, Besson, Yamaha, or Hirsbrunner, this is not it. It sounds like the upper range of a tuba with more clarity and a more secure feel.

I will also include a gold-plated Schilke tenor tuba mouthpiece, custom made for Chester Schmitz in the '70's. This may be one of the first tenor tuba mouthpieces of its kind. I bought this from Chester 20 years ago, and it works great with this horn. I will not sell the items separately.

I have used this set-up on Bydlo and Overture to a Midsummer's Night Dream as well as lighter baroque works in the brass quintet. This horn is terrific.

Price is $1500+shipping.

Is this in C or Bb? Is the horn you have similar to this (but with 5 valves)?

I am in RI. All the valves are right hand and it has an adjustable thumb ring.
To whom it may concern, if you have emailed me in the past two days, please try again. I lost your email info while I was trying to put the pictures up.

Tom
