My dad may not want to pay for hard cases, so I'm tossing up the old question: what kind of gig bags do you all prefer?! I'm slowly learning to trust most of the information on this site, so what do we think here?!
Any options, websites, brands, locations, etc. would be fabulous!
Many thanks!

I'm having a Cronkhite bag made for me. They're really nice and made to order.
Other possible options are Altieri and Soundwear.
Search Tubenet to which ones are popular and which ones aren't.

Yeah, I've been looking around the TubeNet and seeing what people have got.
Would you mind telling me how much the Chronkite bag cost you? I couldn't get ahold of him today and I'm curious. You can PM me if you like.

I just bought a Soundwear bag for a PT-606. I'm extremely happy with it - versatile carrying/storing positions - GREAT protection for the horn.

I love my Glen Cronkhite bag for my MW2141! It is identical in design and quality to my old, made in USA, RB bag for my Miraphone 186.

I'm ordering the Cronkhite bag through Steve Ferguson (
http://www.hornguys.com/) and it's 325 for the Cordura bag. So far it's been great service with him.

Not to steal their business, but you can order one straight from Chronkhite himself for $325 and customize the color and accessories you want right to his ear personally. It's pretty neat, I'm strongly considering getting at least one!
edit:
looks like you can do that on hornguys.com, too!

Does anybody like the Sterling bags that come with the PT tubas?

I've heard that those tuba world bags they give you at custom aren't that super, but I dunno. I'm pretty sure that's what Carol Jantch had on hers, and she's amazing, so maybe we should all buy them for good luck! Hahaha.
