King SilverSonic trombone

I just ordered my new bass trombone the the tenor has to go to a new home.
Late 60's early 70's model King 3B SilverSonic with F trigger. The horn just had a chem clean and some minor repairs done in the spring and is in really good playing shape. The usual scratches and a bit of laquer wear but no dents or anything major. Comes with the original hard case, though it's seen better days.
It's a beautiful horn to play but when I play trombone I play bass parts and I just can't do this one justice in how it should be played. I'll get pics this weekend when I get to the digital camera. $1500 and I'll pay for shipping.

Wish I could say I got the Edwards Custom or even the Getzen Custom, but it came down to budget horns since I couldn't justify spending more on a bass bone than I did on my tuba or euph so I got the Jupiter 740L. I know it's a Jupiter, but this really is a good horn for a guy like me whose a valver person first. I played one back in January at CMEA (Colorado) and it played real nice. Had I not got my hands on one first I doubt I would have ordered it just based off of Jupiter's history of not so good stuff. Did lot's of research and a lot of pros are saying good things about this one.

The getzen's with the rotors are running 1900-2400 depending on where you shop. If I were to get a getzen I'd have gotten the custom with the axial flow valves (thayers I think). The college I attended has one of those and it played like a machine. Unfortunately I can't even find anybody to have ordered one from so no dice. Doubt I would have wanted to spend that much anyway.
Got a good deal on the Jupiter, around $1650 as a b stock from WWBW so I'm pleased.

The new bass showed up this afternoon and so far, with just doing some warm-ups and exercises, I'm pretty happy with it.
Now the King reall has to go so. . .bump.

FWIW, Steve Ferguson has a used Getzen 1062FDY on his site for $1675 with the 3 pipes and the Getzen hard case. It just went up a few days ago.
SM: did you post your Silversonic on the OTJF?

I will be posting the silversonic this week on the OTJF, so hopefully somebody there will bite.
I looked at the Getzens, but if I would have gotten one of those it would have been the 1052 with the independent valves. That's what I learned on and I just don't think that I could make the dependent work for me as easily. To many years playing with valves.
