Conn 24J

For sale to good home: my old Conn 24J (pics links below). This monster BBb weighs about 40 lbs and can generate a huge sound. But it is taking up too much room and the wife tells me it has to go.
I just had the bell stripped and cleaned. The inside of the bell isn't as nice as the outside, but don't let the one picture scare you too much -- the big reddish spot is a reflection of my red tee shirt.
The main section has some dents and lacquer loss. I tried to capture images of all of them.
Offering price: $1600 + shipping. I'll entertain reasonable offers.

With the upright bell, the horn is technically a 25J. For some, that is much more desirable than a forward-bell 24J.
$1600 is a very good value for a 25J...
I wish that I had never sold mine, but I needed the proceeds to afford my Nirschl CC...

I stand corrected. Thanks. It is offered with an upright bell - but one could put a recording bell on it if one wished.
I have received a private message but have been unable to reply. Something about a debug error.
To said messager - you might remember me. Please feel free to send me another private message and include your email address. We played in the UK Marching Band together one year - and I played loud enough to be mistaken for you once or twice. I think we ought to be able to work something out.

This instrument is still for sale. I'm still asking $1600 plus shipping, but I am open to reasonable counteroffers. Located near Cincinnati.

Apologies - Although the links had worked when I previewed and submitted the post yesterday, when I went back to Tubenet last night I discovered the same thing. I managed to get the pics to download by entering in the search area my username for the photo site --- tubaman22. If that doesn't work, please send me a private message and I'll send you pics via email. Meanwhile, I'm going to try to get these links to work when I get a chance.
Arrgh. Technology. Grrr.

It looks like a new/different leadpipe was added... Any info as to who did the work?

I bought the horn from Sam Gnagey. I haven't done anything to the leadpipe.

After some soul-searching I have decided to rescind my offer to sell the Conn. Notwithstanding the sparseness of interest so far, I feel overexposed at $1300, and particularly when I see some of the stuff that is going up on Ebay. Maybe this is not the time. Meanwhile, it's a honking loud heavy BAT and it's mine. If you haven't already contacted me about this horn - never mind.

HEY...
Good for you jeopardymaster! You would have regretted it anyways... Hard to believe that it didn't sell at $1300! Hold on to it as long as possible!!!
