Looking for a Trade (Tubas)

Post by MikeMilnarik »

Okay, here is the scoop. I have two great F tubas. One is a Rudolf Meinl 5/4 F tuba that I adore. The pitch is FANTASTIC! I have to adjust slides very little. I also have a Yamaha YFB 621 that plays GREAT! It's got a Dillon AGR on it, and it's a GREAT horn as well. I tried out 6 of these horns (from various sources) before I settled on this one.

I don't want to get rid of either one, but my current playing situation has changed and I'm looking for a comparible "couple" but in reverse.

I'd like to trade the Rudolf Meinl 5/4 F tuba for a GOOD Yamaha YFB 822 in Lacquer. The pitch of the Rudy is GREAT and I'm looking to replace it with one of the better 822's that also has GREAT pitch. If you are looking for a different type of sound, but still want a LARGE F tuba that projects well and sings too, this is a great trade for you.

I'd like to trade the Yamaha YFB 621 F tuba for a smaller Rudolf Meinl F tuba.

Both of these trades are for horns of comparible value. My main concern is that I'd like to get excellent examples of the horns I'm looking for, in exchange for the excellent examples I am willing to give up.

The conditions would also need to consider BOTH parties being happy with the trade. If we're not both happy, then we shouldn't swap. We all need good equipment.

SO - anyone have what I'm looking for? Anyone interested in what I have?

Photos will be available to interested parties.
