Yes, I agree the Rudy is just too expensive.
I looked at this when it was advertised on TubaNews but disregarded as soon as I knew the price. From the pictures on BassClef it even looks like the bell would need to be re silver plated to get it back into good condition.

What is the diameter of the bell collar on the Rudy? Finding a real Rudy recording bell is probably more rare than finding York #3, so if we all knew the bell collar diameter we might be able to figure out if any other maker's bells would fit or interchange, which would make the horn marginally more useful, and therefore theoretically more valuable.
