SOLD: Cerveny 681 CC tuba

Post by Tubanapoleon »

I have decided to put my Cerveny 681 CC up for sale. I am playing mostly on my YFB-621 F tuba these days, and I've decided it's time to pursue purchasing a BAT. This horn has alot of sentimental value to me, being the first tuba I ever owned, but it's more important to me to have a tuba I can win auditions with. So ...

The horn was bought new in 2001. This is a small 4/4 CC tuba, with 5 rotary valves (left handed fifth valve). This is a really good example of a cerveny tuba, definately one of the better playing examples. This horn served me well in high school and even into college. Intonation is quite good. The sound is very colorful, these are very resonant horns. This tuba is also quite agile, I used it to play the Vaughn Williams, Gregson, and even the Bozza Concertino. In my mind this is the perfect quintet horn for someone who wants the feel of a CC tuba with a more compact sound. There are some dings here and there, but only one substancial dent, nothing that affects the sound.

Horn comes with a ProTec Gig bag. My asking price is $2500 including shipping, but this is negotiable. I'd like to move on this soon, and I'd rather not use Ebay. I can't ship this horn out to be playtested, but if you're in the Los Angeles area, we can arrange something. You can send me a PM or email me at tubanapoleon@hotmail.com
