WTB: MiniDisk Recorder

Anyone selling a cheap recording setup? I'm looking for something relatively inexpensive, just to use as a training and practicing aid.

Thanks for your help,

Go directly to Sam Ash and buy the Zoom H4 solid state field recorder. Do not pass GO! Just bought one to use for quintet rehearsals. I love it. MP3, 41kz 44kz 96kz, decent built in mics with pro phantom powered plugs available. I get 1 1/2 hrs at 96 and 9 hrs at MP3 on 2 AA's. $300. Slam dunk. I don't even own any stock. Hmm, maybe I should?

Wow... it sure looks pretty impressive. I was hoping to find something used, but if I can't I think I'll check that thing out. It seems to be in the same price range as a new Mini Disk recorder, but I think I like it better.

I have a friend who thinks he is getting one for Christmas. If so, he might part with his mini disk. It is a poor second though. That's why he asked for the Zoom.

I've had an eye on this machine for a while. I was wondering how it picks up the low frequencies. Most commercial recording equipment just picks up the high stuff so recording something like Prokofiev 5 could be somewhat useless.

Anybody have any experiences recording with one these? Excerpts, solo, or even brass quintet or tuba quartet? Post or PM me if you'd like.
