Attention gear heads...Up for sale is 1 Meinl Weston 4 piston Valve set in CC. This is an early valve set from a MW 2165 with the smaller valve diameter. The bore size is the same as the current "Big Valves" but the actual diameter of the piston body is of the smaller, older size. The beggining bore size is .748" for valves 1-3 and .787" for the 4th valve. The valve set was removed when the previous owner decided to change their 2165 to BIG Valves. Anyway, the valve set is in very good working order with no damage and great valve action. The smaller diameter of the pistons makes for a noticeably shorter valve stroke thus facilitating fast passages. The previous owner also vented the valves and then decided to have a repair tech close the vents with a small amount of solder. This does not affect the function of the valves at all. Cosmetically the set is in good shape but there is alot of lacquer wear and blemishing from the valves being removed. I would assume that anyone buying the valve set would be stripping the lacquer off anyway before using it. The slides are all aligned and move freely. The seal on all of the slides is quite airtight. Pictures of the valve set as well as the pistons are included in the links below. I am asking $1750+shipping.

Parden my being dense, but what's the advantage to keeping the bore the same, but changing to a different diameter valve? :?:

Makes sense. Thanks for the enlightenment, Scoob.
