There'd have to be a trade with cash to get one of those horns your talking about for a trade with the Karl Zeiss. How well in tune does the horn play? Is there a lot of slide pulling? Is the horn very mouthpiece sensitive?

Thank you for your interest in our Karl Ziess. We are prepared to add cash for the trade up.

In Tune? Mostly in tune. The notes are usually a line or two away from exact straigh up "in tune" position on the tuner. Brandon says any out of tune notes are easy to correct with your lips. Playing out of tune with this horn has never been a problem.

Slides? He only uses the 4th slide for low E and sometimes low B.

Mouthpiece? The only mouthpiece Brandon uses is the Helleberg 7B and he says it is really great.

This tuba is a nice BBb. The only reason Brandon is selling it is to buy a CC.

Motivated to sell - New lower price

Post by MomX4 »

Lowering price to $2500.

We need to help pay for the MW 2155 CC we purchased, otherwise we would be keeping this BBb.

This would be a great high school tuba, or even junior high. Do you have a student that would improve a lot more if they had their own tuba? It is nice to have your own tuba instead of playing the schools. It is very motivating for students to play their own instrument. It also provides a lesson in earning money to pay for it and caring for a treasured item.

Brandon, now 14, played his Ziess in the Seattle Youth Symphony Orchestras - Symphonette - last year and won the one and only "Directors Award" at his schools Concert Band with this tuba. He also got a 1+ (the best) at the local Solo and Ensemble Festival. This is a great tuba! This was Brandon’s pride and joy. The only reason we are selling it is to help pay for the MW 2155 we purchased from a seller on this forum.
