VINTAGE YORK MOUTHPIECES FOR SALE
Posted: Sun May 20, 2007 3:03 pm
York Fans & Collectors --- I have a mint condition York Al-Tru Tuba Mouthpiece and a York Euphonium mouthpice for sale. The York Tuba mouthpiece has both "AL-TRU" and "YORK B.I. CO." imprinted on the piece, as well as the number 72 imprinted on the shank, and the York Euphonium mouthpiece has "YORK & SONS" as well as the number 10 imprinted on the shank. Rim diameter on the York tuba mpc is 32mm and rim diameter on the York Euphonium mpc is 28.5mm.
The shank on the York tuba mouthpiece seems to be just a bit smaller in diameter than a standard/American shank, and I think extra silver plating on the shank will bring the thickness up to a standard shank dimension. The end of the shank on the York Euphonium mpc has a 1mm long crack in it, probably from the end of the mpc being hit and/or straightened at some point.
I also have a green ribbon that says "J.W. YORK & SONS" in red letters, that is from an old York Euphonium case..... this will be included free for the first person that buys one or both of these York mouthpieces.
Both mouthpieces are fantastic collectors pieces or can be played, they both play well. Photos of these mouthpieces, as well as 3 vintage Holton mouthpieces I also have for sale, can be seen at this website: http://web.mac.com/drdaveusa/iWeb/Site%203/Photos.html
Asking $100 for the York tuba mouthpiece and $75 for the Euphonium mouthpiece...... will lower the price to $150 if both mouthpieces are purchased together.
FREE SHIPPING via US Priority Mail. Request payment by PayPal or US Postal Money Order. Please PM me if interested.
Thank you,
Dave
