This really hurts....I love this horn, but am putting it up for sale. A Besson 983 compensating Eb, bought as a demo model from woodwind and brasswind five years ago.
It had a few dents when I bought it, and since then, I've only put about three more into it. The largest is about the size of a quarter on the front side of the bottom bow. Silver plate is in excellent condition. Great valves, and I recently replaced some of the valve guides.
Sound is an A+! Beautiful Eb tuba sound with a powerful low register. Intonation is ok, only two major issues: D in the staff is usually flat, and A on the top of the staff is sharp, which "takes some getting used to" (official TubeNet terminology)
Comes with an altieri gig bag. $4000. Buyer pays shipping. If you want to come play the horn, it is located in Boulder, CO and I could probably meet you anywhere in the Denver metro area.
I'll post some pictures this weekend.
Drop me an email (dan_c4 AT yahoo.com) if you have any questions.
