I'm not looking to break my back. I've got some extra cash, but not a whole lot. Just seeing what's out there and maybe will spring for something "less costly".
Gotta get my F horn too.

People have said nice things about the Dalyan Apollo and it is under $2K right now at WWBW. Search on Dalyan here.pierso20 wrote:I'm not looking to break my back. I've got some extra cash, but not a whole lot. Just seeing what's out there and maybe will spring for something "less costly".
Or you could wait until the right CC comes up at a price you can pay or wait until you have more $$$.

It isn't just you. I think the problem is just that the file name has no .jpg suffix. So the HTTP server presents the file as content type "text/html" (I'm not guessing on that, I checked.) Your browser believes what it's told. A .jpg file name suffix would give the server a clue about the nature of the file.Steve Inman wrote:Am I having browser problems? I can't view a photo -- just a random text file. (Same with Sam's euph FS).
Thanks,
If you save the data and rename the file yourself, it will be a viewable image of a lovely 5 valve silver plated tuba with a wide American bell.

I would suggest you save up to get a QUALITY horn not some Dalyan POS that you won't use cuz the scale is worthless OR use the extra money to invest in: etude books*, mouthpiece(s), gig bag(s), tuner, metronome, greases/oils, lessons and solo music (hindemith, gregson, RVW, etc).pierso20 wrote:I'm not looking to break my back. Gotta get my F horn too.
*Snedecor, both Blazhevich, Rochut, Ostrander, Bordogni, Grigoriev, Vasiliev, etc.

naw..I'm not looking for a small CC now....
I have my Mira 1290...which is BIG....and I enjoy......and I'll be getting my F soon....
If the F has a low range like its supposed to, I may not need a 3/4 CC.
Plus, I will eventually buy a 4/4CC in the future (5 years or so??)
I have no interest in the Dalyan...But for a student tight on cash it may be a nice horn. I havn't played it, so I don't know how it handles.
I'm in my 3rd year at MSU college of music....so I have one horn (my mira) that plays well (looks ugly and is large) and I'll have an F...that'll be good enough.
My mira has a nice broad sound, and it's big and harder to manage on nimble things (like 5/4 and 6/4 horns CAN be).
So a 4/4 CC, my Mira, and my soon here F will probably be the 3 horns I own in the next 5 years.

oh...and of course...If I had money to just "piss away" (not that it'd be pissing..since I love new toys...haha) I would probably own.......a lot of horns...
a 6/4 CC a 4/4 CC a 3/4 CC for quintet, a 3/4 solo F and a large orchestra F,...
oh man...who WOULDN'T wanna have all these horns?? not that we NEED it..but it'd be fun...
and...i suppose an e-fer could be included in this as well.....
of course, I'd probably have my own tuba store if I had that many horns.....or no house...haha
