Looking to buy YFB-821 (Bobo model)
Hey, I'm looking to buy the Yamaha YFB-821 F tuba.
I know not a lot of them are made each year, and its hard to find them for sale, but if anyone knows about someone who wants to sell one, please let me know.

Yamaha makes these only when they are special ordered, and they take about 6 months from order to door step (so they said) so the amount in circulation may be even less than you think. I wouldn't be surprised if it was a number less than 10. Definitely an awesome playing small F though. This might go in the underrated tuba section just because they are so unknown. Having played one, they are definitely worth the price (and the wait)

You may already know this, but Ferguson Music has one on order.

I really wish there were more out there so I could give it a try.

Yeah, this is the BOBO "updated" kinad version. It's supposed to be very cool.

had one in stock at one time - they may have lost it on their inventory, but I believe it is still there.

These horns are indeed 'pretty cool'. I spent a bit of time on one a few years ago (s/n 001) and it was a really good Yamaha F. Imagine a 621 with a larger bell, larger bore valves, and a muuuuuuuch more comfortable valve section. I actually like this horn better than the 822...I find the 822 to be a bit top-heavy, but still a good horn.
Yes, these are expensive.....about $10K, so be prepared to ante up.

Re: WWBW.....
But the question is, will they now just try to sell you a Yamaha 4 string bass guitar and just tell you to tune the lowest string up a half step??Alex C wrote:BW is going to get a sudden rush of calls for Yamaha F tubas of a specific type on Monday morning.
