For Sale: Frank Holton Eb TUBA serial # 53xx. ( manufacture date 1908?? ) NOT low pitched: replaced tuning slide to bring pitch in line, replaced leadpipe, and updated receiver so it fits large type american shanks.
Includes original case: not flight worthy, straps/handles need repair. Valves are pitting but work fine, numerous small dents and dings as to be expected on an almost 100 year old horn. Good sounding instrument!!!!

The pedal register is Beefy. The range from low Bnatural to the Eb below can be falsed or ghosted. Is this better on this horn than others? I can not make that comparison, but it's not hard for me to perform these notes. The pedals pop right out ( from pedal Eb to B natural) and sound great!

Intonation: Depending on the mouthpiece I use, sometimes the upper register is a tad flat. The bigger the mouthpiece, the easier to get it right on. When I use a smaller moutpiece (and I usually never really play these) I have more problems, (so I'm not sure it's so much the horn as the player : )
