MW 45SLP - $3500+Shipping

Post by tubawallace »

This horn has extensive mods. Not very pretty but a great playing horn. The bell has been anealled. The 5th valve lever was reconfigured like the 2165. The tuning slide was reversed. The 2nd valve was vented and the 2nd valve tuning slide stop was centered to improve the slide movement. The leadpipe has been rebent to improve the ergonomics of the horn's playing position. The intonation is very manageable and the sound is quite sweet now. I will not be playing it often enough any more. Comes with an Altieri bag. Please email me for pics and questions.

Posting pictures here is easy. Well.... it's not easy exactly..

Hey, sorry. Tell you what: You need to contact a guy on this board named elephant. He says he's dumber than dirt (actually somebody said that about him) but he's figured out how to post pictures from Mississippi. I'm from Mississippi and if you can post pictures from Mississippi, you can post them from anywhere.

Great news!

I have developed a great idea about how to weave kudzu into a cloth to be used for high fashion designs. Either that or create a health food drink from ground up kudzu. As you know, Yazoo City is the kudzu center of the state and I could set up my kudzu plant there as soon as I figure out what the product will be.

Bump for a great sounding F tuba.

And for those who don't know...

Studies have shown that kudzu can reduce both hangovers and alcohol cravings. A person who takes kudzu, will still drink alcohol, however, they will consume less than if they had not taken kudzu. The mechanism for this is not yet established, but it may have to do with both alcohol metabolism and the reward circuits in the brain. The Harvard Medical School is studying kudzu as a possible way to treat alcoholic cravings, by turning an extracted compound from the herb into a medical drug.

Kudzu also contains a number of useful isoflavones, including daidzein (an anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial agent), daidzin (a cancer preventive) and genistein (an antileukemic agent). Kudzu is a unique source of the isoflavone puerarin. Kudzu root compounds can affect neurotransmitters (including serotonin, GABA, and glutamate) and it has shown value in treating migraine and cluster headache .

In traditional Chinese medicine, where it is known as gé gēn (葛根), kudzu is considered one of the 50 fundamental herbs. It is used to treat tinnitus, vertigo, and Wei syndrome (superficial heat close to the surface).

So, Wade, is that place behind Mississippi Chemical Co. still available? I'm going to mass produce my cure for Wei Syndrome.
