I'm looking at possibly shifting this instrument - built in the 1980's (lacquered), this is a standard Sovereign body with a Hirsbrunner F tuba bell (silver) put on it by the UK tuba repair genius that is Mike Johnson. The end result is similar to the new 980's but with the character of the older Bessons - it is truly flexible from orchestra to small chamber groups and solo playing.

The lacquered body has lost a lot of lacquer and has the usual bumps and dings (consistent with its vintage), but the bell is newly plated, with only two small cosmetic marks from careless people who walk past tuba bells. The valves have the black plastic guides and are in brilliant condition.

Also included is a new Coldstream case that has flown once.

Finally - the price I'm hoping for is in the neighbourhood of £2500 plus shipping from London UK for this tuba & case - this is the equivalent of appx $5000 and represents the value of the original 982, the work done, the new bell and a new flight case made by Coldstream Cases...

For those who might want to have the original bell, it is available from Mike Johnson for £150...
