Does anyone have an older copy of Finale or Sibelius that they've since upgraded? If I buy your copy, is it still possible to register the program?

I don't know about Finale but Sibelius uses the same ID/Serial number throughout all upgrades. It might be possible to get a workable older version but I'm not smart enough to do it. There is a different upgrade code each time but it still uses the same serial number.

I believe that you'll just have to "fork over" if you want it to do everything. You can check Finale's website and download "Notepad" for free, but it passively coerces you to purchase the "real deal."

Finale is authorized by machine, the full version can be authorized on two machines, but only by one individual. If the two are already authorized, it cannot be authorized on anymore until one of the previous is deauthorized. I highly recommend finding a student, bringing them with you, and using their ID to get yourself 300 dollars off, lucky me, I am a student....
