so a few people have asked me why the horn has been off and on hold. the hold situations have not been do to the horn. most of the buyers have said they would buy it, but have turned down for personal reasons such as sudden expenses. No one has ever said anything bad or negative about the horn and all have been disappointed to see the opportunity go by.

Not really of quite those dimensions. The nearest size wise for modern CC with front valves would probably be a piston Neptune - nice pic here http://www2.astrosurf.com/alphaweb/tuba ... MLF_HR.jpg" target="_blank

Four valve, silver, upright bell, BAT. What's wrong with these people?
If it was a whole step higher (and had an even flatter third partial and worse other partials) people would be paying five times what you are asking.

There's a similar (but "overhauled") 25J on eBay, that is listed for almost twice as much. If I wanted a 25J, I sure know which one I'd take (Andrew's!!).

Is this tuba meant to be played with a recording bell, or is the bell only detachable for transporting reasons?

(too bad I live too far away from you, I 'd like to try a horn like that once)

Good luck selling.

Yes. A 25J has the upright bell and the 24J has the front bell. Otherwise, they use the same body. The upright bell is rather rare over here so usually commands a premium price. While a case or bag to carry an upright bell is possible and common, a case designed to carry a recording bell while attached to the tuba would be an ungainly thing to move around, hence, the removable bell and two cases.

I'm surprised this horn has not moved. It looks good and has a nice set of accessories to go along with it. And the price is average to below average.

Somebody buy it!

Wim, If you are in the UK some time, http://www.MrTuba.com had a 25J for sale the last time I was in there - but I might add at higher price than being asked here!
