Monster Eb Bell...

Post by Jonathan Fowler »

Just wondering if anyone has a Conn Monster Eb bell, or equiv. (20 inch pref) laying around that they would be willing to part with for a fair price. I'm considering a bell switch with my MW2155.

I don't have any affiliation with the seller, just noticed it and thought I would pass it on.

I concur with Joe here. No waaaaaay is this going to work! Unless, you plan to build a tuba in Db or ruin a very good monster Eb bell.

I'm pretty sure that we measured both bell circumferences to 16 (maybe 3/4) inches at the bottom. Would it make a difference it were the larger bell diameter...22or20 inches?
Certainly not the 14 inch one shown above...

Sorry, but I don't think it's going to work either.

The shape/taper/etc. of the 2155 bell is totally different than the shape/taper/etc. of ANY monster Eb bell.

Take a look at a Getzen G50 if you want to know what monster Eb bells look like on CC tubas.

And 16" around at the bell/bottom bow ferulle (sp??)? Are you sure?

You really could ruin your tuba by doing this...beware!!!

well, thats ~5.1" diameter (16/pi) , is the MW substantially bigger than that?
OH

I thought the diameter he got was 16" which made me think :!: :!: :!: , but 5.1 or thereabout is much better. I don't have a 2155, so I'm not exactly sure if it is way bigger than that or not...I admit that I assumed that it would be.
