The 2J is a CC horn developed by Conn in association with Harvey Phillips; I'm guessing the 4J is a BBb adaptation of that horn. If anyone really wanted to know, there's a link in this thread to another thread: the history of the conn 2j.

Consider this a bump

Almost drove from New York to Kentucky to get it!

I almost would, but I am looking at an indy Thayer bass trombone this week and I don't have a buyer yet for my 1062. And, perhaps more importantly, if I get yours people will expect me to play C tuba including that dreadful 56J my unit has.... :D

$2,500 is a very decent price for a decent 4/4 CC tuba in good shape. I liked this one a lot, but sold it because I was searching for something with more weight for my quintets. It was not what I was looking for, but I would have loved to keep it. At the time I had five CCs and was getting into some trouble with mrs. elephant. So I sold four of them. This was one of those four. It is a good tuba. And for that price it is a very good tuba. If you want to get a nice quintet tuba, already play CC and do not want to use an F in that setting and are not made of filthy lucre or then this one may be for you.

Noel is a straight dealer and a good guy.

Hear that...? The tuba is saying, "Buy me, buy me! Buy me now!"

This is a good amount of tuba for the price!

Don't you use your Yammie F in quintets?

Just wondering...
