Re: WTT Conn 2J for rotary CC
Yep the 2J was the CC version of the 4J. The 3J was the CC version of the 5J Willson 3100 FA5 (2009)
Conn 20J (1953) Conn 40K (1921)
Re: WTT or WTS Conn 2J
The 2J is a CC horn developed by Conn in association with Harvey Phillips; I'm guessing the 4J is a BBb adaptation of that horn. If anyone really wanted to know, there's a link in this thread to another thread: the history of the conn 2j. Consider this a bump ![]()
Re: WTT or WTS Conn 2JThis was almost my horn a year ago...
Almost drove from New York to Kentucky to get it! Mike Cordon, SUNY Fredonia music ed. student
Cerveny 691 Kaiser CC, King fiberglass BBb sousa, Ibanez SR-506 6-string bass, Jin-Bao Bb bass trumpet
Re: WTT or WTS Conn 2J
I almost would, but I am looking at an indy Thayer bass trombone this week and I don't have a buyer yet for my 1062. And, perhaps more importantly, if I get yours people will expect me to play C tuba including that dreadful 56J my unit has....
Re: WTT or WTS Conn 2JThe 2J has a 16 1/2 inch bell; the 3J has an 18 inch bell.
Besson BBb 3v w/tuned exhaust Wick 1
Miraphone 186 detachable - both bells Curry 128D Kanstul Custom Kelly 18 Fanned fret electric and bass guitars If you ever see a King Super 20 trumpet in silverplate serial #330XXX, please let me know!
Re: WTT or WTS Conn 2J$2,500 is a very decent price for a decent 4/4 CC tuba in good shape. I liked this one a lot, but sold it because I was searching for something with more weight for my quintets. It was not what I was looking for, but I would have loved to keep it. At the time I had five CCs and was getting into some trouble with mrs. elephant. So I sold four of them. This was one of those four. It is a good tuba. And for that price it is a very good tuba. If you want to get a nice quintet tuba, already play CC and do not want to use an F in that setting and are not made of filthy lucre or then this one may be for you.
Noel is a straight dealer and a good guy. Hear that...? The tuba is saying, "Buy me, buy me! Buy me now!" This is a good amount of tuba for the price!
Re: WTT or WTS Conn 2J
Don't you use your Yammie F in quintets? Just wondering... Mike Cordon, SUNY Fredonia music ed. student
