I now have a PT-3 and It's superb. (Thanks Jon!)

No problem in a big Orchestra if you blow it properly - with a big mouthpiece.

Ditto. I played one in college and it worked great as an all-around tuba. Also sounded great in a section alongside a Cerveny kaiser CC.
