I've decided to trim down my tuba mouthpiece collection:

For Sale:

Perantucci PT-64: ("s" shank), silver, excellent condition. Standard F tuba mouthpiece.

Miraphone Rose Solo: Silver, like new condition, original box included, this is a vintage one...the newer ones aren't quite the same as the older ones.

Canadian Brass Arnold Jacobs Standard Weight: Large shank, silver, like new condition. Made by Terry Warburton.

Canadian Brass Arnold Jacobs Heavyweight: American shank, gold plated, like new condition. Made by Terry Warburton.

Warburton J.A. Custom Heavyweight: Medium sized, very deep Helleberg style mouthpiece. Good overall condition. Has some knicks, but nothing rough and the shank is round. Gold plated, large shank

Laskey 30H: Large shank, silver, great condition BUT shank is ever-so-slightly out of round.

Email or PM for prices and other details.

The standard Jacobs mouthpiece is comparable to a Conn Helleberg in weight and exterior styling. The heavy version has the exact same cup and rim but has a exterior shell that looks like a torpedo (for lack of a better term). Shanks on Warburton heavyweight mouthpieces are pretty short, fyi, because of the shape of the cup itself.

Rose Solo and Jacobs Standard are spoken for.

What does J. A. stand for?

I'm actually not sure. It is not a typo though...the mouthpiece says J.A., not A.J. or 1A or anything like that.

I believe it was the initials of the person that originally ordered the mouthpiece. It's not like anything I've ever seen before.

I believe I remember reading there's a legal/copyright thing going on there that disallows Warburton from using a Jacobs endorsement, only implying one with the reverse initials.

I recall reading that as well.

However, the mouthpiece itself is totally different than the "real" Canadian Brass Arnold Jacobs heavyweight that I have, leading me to believe that the J.A. was probably the original owner's initials.
