Mouthpieces FS

Post by IkeH »

Need to clear some spares to help buy a new(old) upright bass.

PT-82(this was my fave for a long time) $60

PT-70 ("S" shank) $60

PT-72 $60

Laskey 30H (American shank) $75

All are in excellent shape and will ship to lower 48 at this cost, or make offer for the lot.

They are neither gold or heavyweight, although the PTs are fairly heavy normally. Custom Music's site doesn't seem to want to be accessed for now, so I can't give you exact specs, but they are both 32mm diameter pieces, med. depth I think. The 72 seems a bit sharper on the rim and the 70 has a rare "S" shank. They are larger F mpc's although I used them on a CC. Hope this helps.

Never mind, I found the specs on Tubamania:

PT-70

cup: 32.5 mm, Deep, Very rounded at bottom
bore:  8 mm
Rim:Width 8 mm, Small with sharp inner rim

Model PT-70 is a fairly deep mouthpiece with a bell-shaped cup. This gives a broad sound with quick response. It is a very comfortable and powerful mouthpiece which features a brilliant sound and is highly recommendeed for any tuba.

PT-72

cup: 32.5 mm, Moderately rounded at bottom
bore:8.1 mm
Rim:Width 8 mm, Fairly sharp inner edge - Moderately rounded rim
Model PT-72 is a large mouthpiece for the F or Eb tuba. The sound has considerable weight combined with the richness and clarity associated with the German concept. It is also recommended for intermediate level students of the BBb and CC tubas.

If you want both of these, I can make you a deal. Gotta move em.
