The Chicago Brass Band has just released its first CD,
a compilation of live recordings from the last two
years. The CD includes CBB’s performance at the 2004
North American Brass Band Competition – Chivalry by
Martin Ellerby and Leonardo by Philip Wilby. Solo
features include Arthur Pryor's Fantastic Polka,
performed by CBB principal trombone, Marc Donatelle,
and William Tell Overture, showcasing Teralyn
Trace-Keith's talents on xylophone. Other pieces
include Bill Bailey, Hot Toddy, Penny Lane, Something,
Gaelforce, Finale From The Pines of Rome, Chorale and
Toccata, and Punchinello. CDs are $15 each + $2 postage and may be
purchased by e-mailing Steve Marcus at semarcus1@yahoo.com.

I just received this CD from Steve, and highly recommend it. Very good band with a great sound. There is a nice blend of lighter and weightier pieces on the CD. Overall, one of the most enjoyable CD's I've opened in quite a while.
And of interest to this group-- very nice playing in the low brass. Kudos to Steve and his section mates.
