SOLD- FS: CULBERTSON NEPTUNE

Postby mrtuba123 » Thu Apr 05, 2012 2:09 pm

NO LONGER AVAILABLE.

I am selling my B&S Mel Culbertson Neptune CC tuba. It is the rotor model. I bought it used almost 3 years ago and the previous owner only had the large lead pipe. It has served me well and is a great horn to play. I have decided to sell it in the prospect of purchasing something that fits me better.

There is some lacquer that has come off near where the bell meets the bottom bow. It was like that when I bought it and I have taken great care to insure that it didn't spread further.

Overall: intonation is solid, valves are smooth, and all of the slides move fine. The first and second valves are vented and the second valve slide has a trigger that can be operated easily from the left side of the horn. It has been well taken care of since I have owned it, and it will be cleaned and maintained before I sell it.

I am asking $8,200 for the horn and the Altieri gig bag that has seen moderate use.

If you have any particular questions or concerns regarding this instrument, or would like me to send you pictures, feel free to contact me directly via email at wconnor1@ithaca.edu" target="_blank, or feel free to contact Dr. Aaron Tindall.

BUMP.

I will be using this horn for the mock orchestral competition at ITEC at the end of June, but after that will still be looking to sell to upgrade to a large piston CC.

Bump.

I will be back from ITEC with this horn at the end of the weekend and will be looking to sell it still. I will consider trading for a Gronitz PCK or possibly a Thor but would definitely need to play any offers first.

There are a number of possible reasons. Perhaps the seller has come to the conclusion that he prefers pistons over rotors, or it could just be he is looking for a different sound.
