WTB CC TUBA

Hello everybody,

So I'll start simple and if anyone has additional questions you can post them in this thread, where I can answer them. (I check this sight on a regular day to day bases. Please don't PM me unless you have a serious offer.)

What I'm looking for:

I'm looking for a used CC tuba (5 valve not 4), preferably a 4/4 as I am not looking to play in large orchestral settings. I just need a small ensemble horn that can get me through and one that will also work well in the solo game. I prefer rotors over pistons but I will buy either. (Come to think of it, it's been a while since I've played pistons.) I'm looking at a price range of $4,000 here so I fully realize that I'm not gonna get the prettiest tuba in the bunch. one tuba that I've been really interested in is the Miraphone 186 (5 valve CC). I've seen some lately going for around $4,500 used. I might be able to humor that price. I am looking to make a purchase before fall term classes start so that I can start getting the sound under my fingers.

I just heard from a well-known player on facebook that he's very happy with a new JinBao CC. Your mileage may vary.

@euphers: is he "well-known" enough that I would know the name? I've been curious about the Jinbao line. If I could get some more info that would be great

Try an Advanced Search for JinBao - it should bring up plenty of results...

I'm pretty happy w mine.it does need some bloke-ing.slides and valves could use some lovin.played it for almost a year for $.no complaints from employers.
