Martin Mammoth three valve BBb tuba

This is a Martin Mamoth 6/4 size tuba. The bell is 24 inches across and is a laquer body and matching bell. The tuba is a three valve top action model with matching serial numbers for the bell and body. The bell engraving is clearly visable and in good shape. The tuba comes with all parts including the Martin lead pipe extension needed to play this model.

The condition of the tuba is in great shape, valves are nickle plated and are fast and quick, slides are nickle plated and all move and are functional, and there are no major dents or signs of work on the body or the bell.

The tuba comes with both cases included in the price but does not come with a mouthpiece, one can be included if needed. The cases are in good shape and are the orginal hardwood cases. They both function and still protect the tuba very well.

This is a great playing and looking tuba that will make a fine tuba for any player.

Shipping will be a little more since it is two cases and we can also look at other options besides UPS such as Greyhound or local pick-up. Please contact me at Northernlowbrass@Yahoo.com" target="_blank" target="_blank" target="_blank" target="_blank to set-up another shipping option.

More pictures can be seen here,

Shipping with UPS is 300.00

Thanks for looking!!

From the info I got it was apart of the restoration on the tuba they nickel plated the slides and valves. It is a nice touch and looks good on the tuba.

I haven't played this particular Martin. But, I've never played a dog of a Martin Mammoth. If you're into playing trad jazz/dixie/whatever, there is NOTHING that beats a Martin. The sound is everything--you WILL sound like Bill Carroll of Turk Murphy's band, or Mike Wallbridge of the Original Salty Dogs, or so many others who played for Turk, the Firehouse 5+2, whoever. It is a velvet hammer of a sound. Pitch is square on on Martins, also.

On mine, using the top bell, I pull a little 3rd slide for Gb, and that's it. Except for lowest Eb, it plays well 14 pulling on one a little. Otherwise, my left hand is looking for things to do...

This is too nice a horn to not be used. I'm perfectly well set with my 4v, but the 3v are just as good. Somebody....
