MW 2145 CC 4/4 For Sale

Post by Manituba »

Hi,

I am selling my CC tuba. It is a lacquered Meinl Weston 2145 4/4 CC with 4 piston and 1 rotary valve. I originally bought this instrument new in 1999 and I have been the only owner. I picked it from 4 identical instruments when I drove to Brasswind in Indiana that spring.

Since then, it has been my main horn for my performance degree at university, and it is my main horn that I use with the Thunder Bay Symphony Orchestra and when I sub with the Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra.

This is a fantastic instrument with a beautiful sound. Many professional tuba players have commented that it is the best playing Meinl Weston they have come across.

Repairs done to the instrument over the years: new valve springs, new felts, new hinges on the case.

Please email me if you are interested: Chris_Webster@UManitoba.CA

Thanks,
Chris

That's a great looking horn from those pics. No major dents or anything, and it looks pretty darn new for 6 years old.

Thanks! I've only ever used a hard case. Also, I always put it in the case when I'm not holding it.

Learnt that lesson the hard way with a previous tuba. :(

BTW, it's also the same tuba I'm holding in my avatar.
