Hi, I'm looking for some leads on a Conn 20J bell-front tuba - please let me know if you know of one, or have one for sale. Please e-mail me with condition, asking price, etc. Thanks!

BTW: Will also consider a King bell-front tuba as well.

Try this link for one on eBay right now. Five and a half hours left on it.

Or how about one uping it to a Conn 36J with both upright and forward bells? Check URL below for sale listing at BassClefBrass.

Lee Stofer had a 24J (4 valve 20J) at the Army Band tuba conference, Baltimore Brass had one, and Dillon Music has a 21J (20J with upright bell) for sale. I don't know if any of these are still available, but you could contact each of them. They are all reliable, reputable dealers.

These seem to show up on ebay fairly regularly, with selling prices ranging from $500 to $1200, depending on condition and the way the wind is blowing, for one in playing condition. I have seen some complete but needing work to be playable sell for as little as $200. A couple of repair shops seem to put these up for sale on ebay periodically that have been fully overhauled for around $2500, give or take a few hundred $$.

That guy was smoking something good and not sharing it!
It does seem excessive. FWIW the upright bell on this horn is one that sold for over $1000 on ebay.
