I owned a 163 CC, goldbrass with 5 valves, purchased new just a few years ago from Dillon. It plays well, and is very comparable to the B&S Perantucci PT-6. However, after playing both against each other, I find the B&S to be better in every aspect. The PT-6 blows freer, has better intonation tendencies, wider tone (but it's a bit bigger too). Not that Alex plays small. But if you are looking for a rotary tuba, PT-6 can't be beat. Or PT-20, the smaller PT CC tuba. The best rotary CC that I know is the Hirsbrunner HB-2 (or the bigger HB-6). Feel free to PM me about Alex.
