FS/FT: B&S PT20-PS PRICE DROP $7000!
Hi everyone. Up for sale today is my B&S PT20PS. This is a great silver plated horn, 4/4 size with 4 piston valves and a flat step rotor. This has been a great CC tuba for me through my first year in college, but I just feel better on rotary valves. It's intonation is pretty solid, bottom line G can take some getting used to but it's not very difficult. 1st 3rd and 4th slides can all be reached both over and through the tubing comfortably, depending on how you like to hold it. I only ever use the first valve slide though. High range is great and clear. Low range is very mouthpiece dependant, my Bayamo is growling and with the Blokepiece Symphony it's like an organ. Great solo horn, great in a section, and a better player than me could probably use it for a full orchestra. Ultrasonically cleaned and valves aligned in January, this horn is good to go. I'm including a Sterling Tuba World soft case and my Giddings and Webster Bayamo euro shank. My dream horn is a Miraphone 291 Bruckner, which is usually $9000 and some change, so I'd like to get $7000 for this horn if possible. Obviously any kind of trade for a Bruckner would be perfect. This is a great horn for college students needing a horn, or even an experienced player needing a 4/4 CC. pictures coming tomorrow! Thanks in advance!

Re: FS/FT: B&S PT20-P
I used to own one of these. Clean pitch from top to bottom. Perfect "do it all" horn. Good for full orchestra, quintet, solo, pit orchestra, whatever. The low register can roar, and the high range sings. I am just more comfortable with rotors. Bump for a good tuba!

Re: FS/FT: B&S PT20-P
I am in Wichita Falls, Texas. Here are some pictures.
Pictured are the bell dings, the belt buckle scratch, and the miscolored 3rd valve. I'm not sure what the story is on that, it's been there since I got it. I'm currently in talks with BBC about a trade, I'll let everyone know how it goes when they answer!
EDIT: Sorry for the big pics! I've resized them.

Re: FS/FT: B&S PT20-P
Unfortunately, the tuba I was looking at trading towards is gone. So this tuba is 100% for sale! This is a great do it all horn, thanks for the testimony Michael. I think I've found a Bruckner to buy so I'd like to get this sold!

Bump for summer! Lots of interest, and a surprising amount of just kind words about this horn. Apparently this horn is a bit of a hidden gem! If only it had rotary valves. Anyways, this will make a great horn for someone that will last them through college and into a career!

At $7500, I had the same asking price for mine when I sold it. And mine was lacquer, not silver! Bump!

Is this instrument still for sale? I'm going into my senior year of high school and am looking for a tuba to take me into college, and this one looks like it might fit nicely.
